So this is one of the most incredible, large welo opals I've seen to date, and it's really difficult to capture in photos, but there is a strong glittery fire to it in almost a checkerboard pattern, with bright flashes of red, green, and yellow. It doesn't need bright light to show its color, it glows even in dim indoor evening lighting, and it just had to be wrapped in a thick 22 karat gold bezel. I've set it on a layered, hand stamped sterling silver backing, oxidized and brushed to bring out all of the texture and detail. That texture is also difficult to photograph, but shows very nice contrast in person. The pendent measures 1 & 1/4 inches from the top of the bail. This was a special and pricey opal, but so worth it!
